As you might have guessed by now, this blog chronicles the events we've gone through or will go through right up to our big day. Why blog on this kind of mundane stuff; stuff that hundred over couples (in Malaysia) go through every year? Well it might be boring and mundane for certain people but it's definitely not for us. The blog will serve as a special remembrance gift for us. Something for us to look back on after a few years and makes us wonder aloud, "gosh, we really went through that much trouble to get married??". Makes it that much sweeter, isn't it? ;)
Apart from that, who knows, visitors might get a pointer or two on this whole getting married business from reading this blog. But I suggest you be patient as this blog is still in its infancy and won't offer you much at this point in time. Drop by again in six month's time to get the full picture. Hopefully. Fingers crossed.
As for the blog title, Seventeen January, we selected it because that's the date of our anniversary; the date we became an item, the date we became exclusive, boyfriend girlfriend. We've been dating since 17th Jan 2002. Yes, I know it's that long already and yes, I know it's about time. We also plan to register our marriage on that date as well. That would make things perfect.
But unfortunately we don't live in a perfect world. You see, we're planning to have our wedding reception in December and that means the registration would be after the reception. It's possible, it's legal but it's weird. People usually do it the other way round. Oh well, such is life's oddity.
That's it for now. Hopefully this introduction puts this blog in perspective. I will continue to pen my thoughts here as we Journey to the Wes... eh... as we journey to married life :)
